Why all this Vatican II talk?

The purpose of this web-sight is to assemble together articles and information to help inform and guide parishioners about the how, what, and why's of what we do as Novus Ordo Catholics.

There are many web-sights like Fish Eaters that help explain our Catholic traditions, but with a focus on Pre-Vatican II liturgy. While these web-sights can be very informative, it can also be rather confusing to separate what belongs to the Novus Ordo from what was of the Usus Antiquior (the official name for the Extraordinary Form/Latin Mass).

I felt there was a void which I could help fill by creating a place to prayerfully and humbly grow together in our understanding of the faith practiced in this Novus Ordo we simply call "the Mass".

Why do we Do that?

Why does my priest want to pray facing the Tabernacle?

A brief summery of the ancient practice of turning toward the east to worship facing together the Son of God.

Why did our Church cover the statues?

Explaining the ancient roots of veiling statues during the season of Lent.
